Privacy policy
Last updated: October 12, 2026
Simone Technologies Inc. ("Simone", "we", "our", or "us") provides an AI care platform for older adults living at home, the families who look after them, and senior living communities. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect information when you use the Simone watch, the Simone mobile app, the staff portal, or this website (together, the "Services").
We do not sell personal information. We do not share it with advertising partners, and we do not use advertising cookies or trackers on this site or in the app.
1. Information we collect
- Account information: name, email address, and a shipping address provided when you order or register.
- Household information: the people in a household, their roles, contacts, medications, reminders, appointments, and preferences entered by family members or by the person Simone looks after.
- Watch data: location, home or away presence, wellness readings (heart rate, blood oxygen, steps, sleep), battery and connection status, and events such as an SOS press or a detected fall, sent by the Simone watch.
- Phone location (only if the person Simone looks after allows it): the precise position of their phone while the Simone app is open on it and, only if they also choose that, every so often while the app is closed or not in use. We keep only the latest one, never a history. The full account, including how to turn it off, is in section 2b, Location.
- Conversations: what is said to Simone, by voice or text, and her replies. Voice audio is processed to produce a reply and is not kept after processing; the text of the conversation is kept so Simone can remember what matters.
- Payment information: handled by Stripe. We receive a record of the transaction and the last four digits of the card; we never see or store the full card number.
- Care information (communities): room assignments, schedules, meal preferences, and care notes entered by community staff on behalf of residents.
- Usage data: logs of feature use, timestamps, and error reports, used to keep the Services working.
- Push notification tokens: device tokens used only to deliver alerts and updates to your phone.
- Newsletter: if you subscribe on this website, your email address, the date, and the consent text you were shown.
2. How we use information
- To operate Simone for the person she looks after: check-ins, reminders, conversation, and noticing changes against that person's own pattern.
- To alert the family or care team when something needs a person: an SOS, a fall, a change in pattern, a watch that has gone quiet.
- To show the family where the person Simone looks after is, from the watch and, if they allow it, their phone, and to help them find their way or get a ride (see Location).
- To let a family coordinate care, and community staff coordinate resident care.
- To process orders and subscriptions, and to send transactional email about them.
- To keep the Services secure and reliable, and to comply with legal obligations.
Wellness readings are shown as trends against a person's own usual pattern. Simone is not a medical device, does not diagnose, and is not a substitute for professional care or emergency services.
Conversations with Simone are processed by our AI providers under business terms that prohibit using them to train AI models. Those providers keep a conversation for at most 30 days, for abuse monitoring, and then delete it. Simone never sends a message, makes a booking, makes a payment, or enters into any agreement on your behalf; when something needs doing, she brings it to the family, and a person decides.
2a. Connected calendars (Google Calendar, iCloud)
If you choose to connect a Google or iCloud calendar in the app, Simone asks for permission to see the list of your calendars and their names, to read the events on the calendars you select, to create, change and delete events, and to see the email address of the account you connected so the app can show you which account is in use. She uses that access for three things only: to answer your questions about what is coming up, to write the appointments you ask her for into a calendar named "Simone" that she creates in your account, and to move or cancel one of your events when you ask her to. Calendar events are kept for the next few weeks so she can answer without a delay, and are refreshed every few minutes.
Calendar data is used only for your own conversations with Simone. It is not shared with the rest of the household except where you have chosen to share your schedule, it is not sold, it is not used for advertising, and it is not used to train AI models. The access and refresh tokens that keep a connected account working are stored encrypted and are never shown to anyone. Beyond the household sharing you choose, no person at Simone reads your calendar data except where you ask us for support, where it is needed to protect against abuse or a security problem, or where the law requires it. Disconnecting an account in the app deletes the credentials and every event Simone imported from it immediately; you choose whether the appointments she wrote into your calendar are removed or left in place. You can also revoke Simone's access at any time from your Google or Apple account settings.
Simone's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
2b. Location
Simone collects precise location from two devices, and only about the person she looks after.
- The Simone watch sends its position (from GPS, the mobile network and nearby Wi-Fi) every so often while it is switched on, whether or not it is on a wrist, and at once on an SOS press or a detected fall. The watch's positions are kept with its other readings for as long as the account is active, so the family can see where the person was when something happened and whether they are home or away, and are wiped if the watch passes to another household.
- The Simone app on their phone, only with the permission they give on that phone. While the app is open, it reads the phone's precise location so the family can see where they are when the watch cannot say, and so Simone can plan a trip from where they actually are. If they also choose "Always" (iPhone) or "Allow all the time" (Android), the app collects the phone's location even when the app is closed or not in use, every so often, so the family can find them at night or when the watch is flat. We keep only the latest phone position, never a history. The app explains what it is about to ask and why before the phone's own prompt appears, and reads nothing until they agree.
A family member's or caregiver's phone is never located. The app asks for location only on the phone of the person Simone looks after.
How location is used. To show the family where the person is and whether they are home; to raise an alert when they are away at night, have pressed SOS or have fallen; to tell them which way to turn when they are lost; to set the pickup point for a ride; and to plan around their day. It is never used for advertising, never sold, and never used to train AI models.
Who sees it. The family members and caregivers in the household whom the household's admin has allowed to see location, a setting made per person. Our cloud provider stores it for us. When Simone names a street or sets a pickup point, the coordinates alone, with no name attached, are sent to Google's geocoding service, which answers with an address. When the person taps to book an Uber or a Lyft, the precise pickup point (its coordinates and address) and the destination are handed to that app on their phone, and from there that company's own privacy policy applies. Nobody else receives it.
Turning it off. Phone location can be switched off at any time on the person's own profile in the app or by telling Simone, and removing Simone's location permission in the phone's settings deletes the last phone position the next time the app is opened. Switching the watch off stops its positions; taking it off the wrist does not. Deleting the account removes all of it.
3. Sharing of information
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with advertising partners or data brokers. We share information only in these circumstances:
- Within your household or community: information is shared between the person Simone looks after and the family members or authorized staff connected to them, according to the roles you set.
- Service providers: we use providers for cloud infrastructure, cellular connectivity for the watch, payment processing (Stripe), email delivery, push notifications, weather, address and map lookups (Google), and AI processing, solely to operate the Services. They are contractually prohibited from using your data for any purpose of their own.
- Legal requirements: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
4. Data retention, access and deletion
We keep your account and household information for as long as your Simone account is active. Voice audio is not stored after it has been processed.
You can ask for a copy of your information, or ask us to delete it, from inside the Simone app: Account, then Your data & privacy. A copy is emailed to the address on your profile. A deletion is scheduled 30 days ahead, and you can withdraw it from that same screen at any point during those 30 days. On the scheduled date the information is permanently removed, the subscription ends, and the watch is no longer monitored. We keep one short record of the request itself, who asked and when we carried it out, because we have to be able to show that we honoured it.
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Québec's Law 25, you also have the right to access and correct your information, to receive it in a portable form, and to withdraw your consent to our use of it. You can exercise any of these in the app, or by writing to privacy@simoneai.com.
5. Cookies
This website uses only cookies that do a job:
- A cookie named
simone_regionthat remembers which country's site you chose, kept for one year. - Cookies set by Stripe on the checkout page to keep payment secure and to detect fraud. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to those.
- A setting in your browser's local storage that records that you have seen our cookie notice.
We do not use analytics, advertising, or social-media cookies, and we do not track you across other websites.
6. Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter we keep your email address, the date you subscribed, and the consent text you were shown, as Canada's anti-spam legislation asks us to. Every email we send includes a way to unsubscribe, and you can also write to privacy@simoneai.com. We do not share the list with anyone.
7. Security
All data is transmitted over HTTPS, and the watch's connection to our servers is over its own cellular line. We use industry-standard security practices to protect your information. No method of transmission over the Internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's privacy
The Services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Where your information is held, and visitors from the United States
Simone is operated from Ontario, Canada, and information is processed in Canada and in the United States by the service providers named above. Whether you are in Canada or the United States, the same rules apply: we do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising, as those terms are used in US state privacy laws. If you are a US resident and want to exercise a right under your state's privacy law, write to privacy@simoneai.com.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will note material changes by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
