Our story

We built Simone for the phone call we were all dreading.

The one that comes at eleven at night, from a parent's number, or worse, from a stranger's. Simone is our answer to a simpler question: what would it take for that call never to be the first you heard of it?

Three generations of a family around a kitchen table, laughing, late afternoon light

It starts at home.

Almost everyone, asked, says the same thing: they want to grow old in their own home, in their own chair, with their own kettle. And almost everyone who loves them lives an hour away, or a province away, or a flight away, doing the caring in the gaps of their own life. A morning call. A pill organiser filled on Sundays. A ride to the dentist negotiated by text between three siblings.

What the market offered that family was a pendant nobody wanted to wear, or an app their parent never opened, or a camera in the hallway that made the house feel like somewhere else. Reassurance, at the price of dignity. We didn't think that was a fair trade, and we didn't think it had to be one.

Care is a relationship, not a dashboard.

So we started from the other end. Not “how do we monitor someone” but “what would a good neighbour do, if they could be there all day?” They would say good morning. They would remind you about the pills without making a thing of it. They would notice you hadn't been out in a while. And if something happened, they would call your daughter, not send her a graph.

That neighbour is Simone. She talks and listens and remembers. The watch is how she stays close to the person: on the wrist, with its own line, able to make a real call. The app is how she keeps the family in the loop, with one plain summary at the end of the day and an alert only when something needs a person.

Everything else followed from that. It is why the watch has an SOS button that rings real people rather than a call centre. It is why the family sees the last known place rather than a dot moving across a map all afternoon. It is why the family reads sentences rather than charts, and why we describe a change in someone's pattern in the words a friend would use, with a suggestion to mention it to the doctor, rather than pretending to be one.

Reassurance for the family shouldn't cost the person their dignity. We built Simone so it doesn't have to.

What we believe

Three things we won't trade away.

Their day belongs to them.

Simone helps someone live the day they choose. She does not run it, and she does not report on it to anyone who isn't needed.

What we learn is not for sale.

We do not sell personal information and we have no advertising partners. What Simone learns about your family is used to look after your family, full stop.

Wellness, honestly described.

Simone is not a medical device and does not diagnose. She describes changes against a person's own pattern, in plain words, and leaves the medicine to the people trained for it.
