Getting started
What is Simone?
Simone combines the Simone Watch, an AI companion, and a family app to support everyday communication and routines for older adults at home. Features include two-way calls, reminders, daily check-ins, family summaries, and alerts. Simone is not a medical device or a substitute for emergency services, professional care, or supervision.

Does the person wearing the Simone Watch need a smartphone?
No nearby smartphone is required for the watch’s own 4G connection and voice calls. The watch has its own SIM, with cellular service included in the subscription. Setup, pairing, and family participation use the Simone app; independent watch use does not mean there is no app setup.

Who sets up the watch and family app?
Plan for the wearer and a trusted family member or caregiver to set things up together. Pairing and routines are managed through the Simone app, available on iPhone and Android. Agree on contacts, check-in times, reminders, and sharing preferences with the wearer. Contact Support to confirm current requirements for your specific phones; this FAQ does not promise a minimum operating-system version.

Does the watch need Wi-Fi or a separate mobile plan?
The Simone Watch uses its own 4G cellular connection, so a nearby phone or home Wi-Fi network is not required for its cellular calls. There is no separate carrier plan to arrange. Cellular coverage still matters: reception may be limited in rural areas, underground, or inside large buildings. Ask Support about your intended location and any travel plans before relying on service; international roaming is not promised here.

Calling and alerts
Who can call the watch?
The Simone Watch supports two-way voice calls through its speaker and microphone. Incoming calls are limited to family and the contacts you approve. Agree on who should be able to call, and make sure the wearer is comfortable hearing and using the device. The watch does not offer video calling.

Does SOS call 911 or emergency services?
No. Pressing and holding the watch’s side button for about five seconds calls chosen contacts, up to three, one after another until someone answers, and alerts the family app with location. SOS does not call 911 or another emergency service. Contacts must agree who will respond and obtain local assistance when needed. In an emergency, contact emergency services directly.

What if nobody answers an SOS call?
Do not assume help has been dispatched. The published SOS sequence calls your chosen contacts, and the family app is alerted; it is not a staffed emergency response service. Agree on primary and backup responders, and ask Support to demonstrate the current sequence and approved testing procedure before relying on it. Do not test by creating a real emergency or deliberately falling.

Does the watch detect every fall?
No. The Simone Watch alerts the family app with location when its fall detector identifies a hard fall. Some falls may not be detected, and ordinary movements can produce an alert. Fall detection does not prevent falls or guarantee that someone will respond. Keep an agreed manual way to request help and a family response plan.

What happens when a daily check-in goes unanswered?
Simone offers a daily check-in at the time you choose and alerts family when it goes unanswered. A missed check-in is a reason to follow up, not proof of an emergency; a completed check-in is not continuous supervision. Decide who follows up, who is the backup, and who can check locally. If you already suspect an emergency, contact emergency services directly rather than waiting for an app update.

What if the watch is off, out of charge, or disconnected?
Do not rely on calls or updates arriving when the watch is off, out of charge, or without the connection they require. Simone’s published specifications say the family app reports when the watch has gone quiet, but that is not a guarantee of immediate detection or help. Keep another way to request assistance and contact Support if connection problems persist.

Family and privacy
Can more than one family member use Simone?
Yes. The family app supports any number of family members and caregivers, each with their own sign-in. Access should reflect the wearer’s agreement and the role each person has accepted. Decide who reads updates and who responds to alerts; sharing an alert with several people does not establish that someone has acted.

What information can the family see?
Depending on the sharing choices, the family app can show summaries, alerts, medication records, location, and wellness trends. Simone’s published controls let you decide who sees location, wellness signals, and medications. Discuss these choices with the wearer before enabling sharing and review them when circumstances change.

Is location shown on a live map?
The family app shows the last known place and whether the wearer is home or away, rather than a continuously live map. Location is also shared with SOS and detected-fall alerts. GPS is less precise indoors, and an old location is not confirmation of where someone is now or whether they are well.

Does a medication reminder prove that a dose was taken?
No. Simone can provide reminders and record doses marked as taken or missed. A recorded response does not prove that the correct medication was swallowed. Keep medicine instructions and changes with the appropriate clinician or pharmacist; never infer that another dose is needed solely from an app status.

Can the AI companion give medical advice or replace human contact?
Simone is designed for conversation and everyday support, not diagnosis or clinical decisions. AI responses can be inaccurate. Keep medical decisions with qualified professionals and urgent concerns with emergency services. Conversation with software should complement, not replace, relationships and hands-on support.

Wearing and charging
How long does the battery last, and how long does charging take?
The Simone Watch has an 800 mAh battery and lasts approximately 3–4 days between charges, depending on usage. It uses a magnetic charger. A confirmed charge time has not been published. Keep another way to call while the watch is charging or unavailable.

Orders and billing
Is the Simone Watch shipping now?
The Simone Watch is currently offered for preorder. Canadian shipping is scheduled to begin in December 2026. A preorder is not an immediate solution for a current care or emergency need. Review the latest checkout information before ordering and contact Support about a specific delivery requirement.

How do I manage or cancel a subscription or preorder?
Use simone.care/manage, or Subscription & billing in the app. Subscription cancellation takes effect at the end of the paid period; part-months are not prorated. An unshipped preorder can be cancelled for a full refund to the original payment method. Once shipped, return terms apply instead. Support can help with a specific order.

Will the watch still work after the subscription ends?
No. The watch’s mobile service ends with the subscription. As described in the terms, SOS calling, fall detection, location, and wellness readings stop when service ends. It remains working through the paid period. After service ends, do not treat it as a working alarm; arrange other support.

How do I return a watch or get help with a fault?
The published terms allow a watch return within 30 days of delivery for a refund of the device price. The terms define how delivery is counted and explain the return process, prepaid label, and returning the charger. Start through Manage or cancel, or contact Support. For faults outside the return window, contact Support about warranty help rather than assuming a return is available.
